🌿 Our last month in Queensland: Henry, Ziggy, Luna, and Now Taree 🌿
The past month has been a steady flow of movement, new faces, familiar routines, and gentle moments with the animals we’ve been lucky enough to care for.
Leaving Woody Point — Henry’s Warm World
We have Finished the month at Woody Point with Henry, the big gentle hound who welcomed us into his sunny little world. Henry has a way of making every day feel calm. His soft eyes, slow tail wags, and the way he stretches out in the sunshine like a big lizard always made us smile. He played gently, even though he’s a strong boy, and he loved our little mouth‑wiping game that always turned into playtime.
Woody Point gave us peaceful days, shifting weather, and the chance for Grant to visit his parents — something that added a lovely family thread to our time there.
Hello to Ziggy and Luna
Onward to Ormeau — Meeting Ziggy and Luna
From Woody Point, we travelled south to Ormeau for a month‑long sit with Ziggy and Luna.
Ziggy is a beautiful male border collie — bright, alert, and full of that classic collie intelligence. He watched everything, always ready to learn, always ready to play. His energy kept us moving, and his loyalty made the house feel warm.
Luna, the small black female cat, was the perfect balance to Ziggy. Quiet, graceful, and curious in her own way. She would appear silently, sit nearby, and just be with us. Her presence was gentle, like a soft shadow drifting through the house.
Together, Ziggy and Luna made Ormeau feel peaceful and homely. It was a simple rhythm: walks, cuddles, quiet evenings, and the comfort of settling into a routine with two very different but very sweet animals.
Ziggy also loved his toys and treated them as though they meant the world to him. Honestly, I have never met a dog who took such great care of his toys.
Ziggy was a loving, caring boy who adored being around Grant. Their bond was beautiful. He loved to play, go for walks, and visit the dog park, where he and Grant would enjoy the obstacle course together. Each time they went, Ziggy became a little better and a little faster. He was so proud of himself.

Above is male Maggy, and to the right is female Maggie. They would visit several times throughout the day, often returning together to spend a little time nearby.
Luna is a sweet, loving cat who enjoys perching above your head while you watch TV, often nestling into your hair.
She is also the first cat we have met who responds to her name with a meow. If Luna can see you but you cannot see her, she will quietly watch until you notice her.
There are not many photos of Luna because she had a special way of calming everyone around her. After I came home from the hospital, she would stay close by, following me to my room and remaining on the bed until I fell asleep. She simply had a calming presence about her.
With every house sit, I create a thoughtful gift for the homeowners to show our gratitude and the love we have for their home and beautiful fur kids.

Now in Taree — Ready for Flash and Ruby
As this month draws to a close, we’ve arrived in Taree. The air feels different here — open, peaceful, and full of promise for the next chapter.
We’re about to begin our new sit with Flash and Ruby: a fresh start, new personalities to get to know, new routines to settle into, and new stories waiting to unfold.
✨ Closing Reflection
This past month has been filled with movement — from Henry’s sunny yard in Woody Point, to the gentle companionship of Ziggy and Luna in Ormeau, and now to Taree, where Flash and Ruby will become part of our journey.
Although we fell behind on the blog, the memories have stayed with us. Now, they’re gathered here and ready to be shared.
And there are plenty more stories still to come.
